Lying awake on judgment day Will you be a saint or a hero? Ink a stain where your life began Touched by sweetness and a needle Live your truth You are fast and a loose You're a warm wind brushing the meadow Cry your cry Take to the sky Don't wait for me, Red-Winged Blackbird Don't forget that you were made to love Don't forget that you were made to love her Don't forget that you were made to love Don't forget, don't forget me Don't forget that you were made to love Don't forget that you were made to love her Don't forget that you were made to love Don't forget, don't forget me Voyeur am I as I'm passing by You are ruffled up and singing Warmed by the sun as your song is done And mine is just beginning Don't forget that you were made to love Don't forget that you were made to leave her Don't forget that you were made love Don't forget, don't forget me Don't forget that you were made to love Don't forget that you were made to leave her Don't forget that you were made love Don't forget, don't forget me Don't forget, don't forget me...

Heddwen 04:18
Heddwen I met a woman on the road who told me she was traveling alone I asked her where she planned to go I asked what she was running from her face was creased with lines of sorrow-- maps of what she could not hold her eyes were deep and filled with kindness her words were full of gold she said, I was made in my mother's body aye aye oh aye I was made in my mother's body aye aye oh aye aye aye oh aye I asked, If you know where you are from then why did you decide to leave? If you know your home's behind you what is left for you to see? she smiled with mischief in her eyes and stared into my face and when she spoke she placed her weathered hand against my cheek she said, I was born from my mother's body aye aye oh aye I was born from my mother's body aye aye oh aye aye aye oh aye she waved her hand for me to follow as she began to move away I stood, still strong from lack of living I stood uncertain of the way my questions drew me to this woman she knew things I did not know her back was bent, her feet were aching still she walked on, she walked on and as she went I called out to her but she did not answer me am I safe in a woman's body? aye aye oh aye am I safe in a woman's body aye aye oh aye aye aye oh aye instrumental I was made in my mother's body aye aye oh aye I was born from my mother's body aye aye oh aye aye aye oh aye am I safe in a woman's body? aye aye oh aye am I safe in a woman's body? aye aye oh aye am I safe in a woman's body? aye aye oh aye am I safe in a woman's body? am I safe in a woman's body?

Just a Dream 03:22
Just a Dream I left the house early in the day the clouds were low, and the sky was gray I had no place that I was headed to still I found myself miles away and I can't get back to you first I went there in my mind all the blackbirds close behind me but as I moved deeper inside I didn't want you to find me I wish the rain would fall down on me I wish the rain would fall all around me I wish the rain would fall down on me I wish the rain would fall all around me when it was dark I fell asleep and I forgot the names I gave you when I woke, I was only me and you were just the dream I made you oh lady won't you follow? my arms are reaching out for you oh black eyes, oh head of fire I'm so tired of calling out to you I'm ready for the rain I'm ready for the rain I'm ready for the rain I'm ready for the rain

Unmake 03:55
Cars light up our street at night Make your bed I'll unmake mine You of all people should know How the seasons come and then they go When I need you You come through My god is this beauty? Or is this everything? He who walks beside me Will find me open He who walks behind me...mmmm.... Will find me broken into debris And blowing adrift Cars light up our street at night Make your bed I'll unmake mine

Strange 02:54
something changes when I'm alone I'd like to say I know what I'm thinking but how could I know? the lines on my skin are maps of the places I've been I cannot hide them they'll only grow deeper I wear so many faces I don't recognize them all and when one starts to fall I hide behind the ones I've worn for so long that I think I've become strange sometimes I notice you act like you know me when I ask why you love me I'm hoping you'll show me when we lie in the dark I feel you are tracing a woman I know but can't think of facing it's strange I love you in ways I don't understand there are no words I can tell you keep reaching out in the dark for my hand and I will be reaching back for you

Bitter Lake 05:26
somewhere out in this backcountry way is a body of water they call Bitter Lake and you can't see the land standing on any shore and whatever goes under seeps down to the dark water's floor cars used to come and go use this place as a pathway to get somewhere else but they were discarded on the side of the road where they rusted into the ground and never drove out sure there are mountains and sure there are towns somewhere beyond the borders I've tried to track down sometimes I think that I'm turning around really I'm sinking deep in the water I wonder if I have already drowned or if I'm just going under on Bitter Lake there were houses and boats but the water rose high now there's just water and sky here sunsets were made for the backdrop of pictures to capture the memory of sunny days and sometimes at night the dark water bleeds and black water reeds reach up for my feet but I won't leave I won't leave here I won't leave I won't leave here I won't leave I won't leave here without you one day you'll look back over your life and somewhere toward the beginning was a woman who loved you the best that she could who had no idea she was failing remember the summer you told her you loved her out in the water on days when the clouds were so bright you thought you could float there forever your back to the water, your face turned up to the sun but that summer is gone that summer is gone and you won't leave you won't leave here you won't leave you won't leave here you won't leave you won't leave here without her you won't leave you won't leave here you won't leave you won't leave here you won't leave you won't leave here without her

Traveling west, I know I'll find A marble slab and a hammer left behind Where we carved a face And it looked like yours and mine God spare me from this line I can't cross or uncross It is knotted and vined over everything You're a boy in a poster looking over his shoulder With a look in his eyes like he's 90 years older Than I'll ever be You hold a cross in one hand and it binds All of your sins and your brothers... it's fine I can't pull you apart And I can't make you mine It's the end of a song that you've hummed your whole life Ahhhh oohhh Ahhhh oohhh... You in the water, me on the land My love is a swimmer And you are a man That never learned how To breath... My on the land, you in the water My love is a swimmer And I am daughter That never learned how To breath... You prefer questions that have no answers I'm carving marble with a nail and a hammer God spare my little life I am tangled and crossed I am knotted and vined over Everything God spare my little life I am tangled and crossed I am coming untied
